our story

USRA is a Non-Profit organization incorporated in 1977.

Members of the national trade show, Western Shoe Associates (WSA), created a retail arm of their organization calling it the Western Shoe Retailers Association (WSRA) (name changed to the United Shoe Retailers Association (USRA)).

The WSRA was born out of necessity for west coast retailers, to give them a voice in the shoe industry. The WSRA used to be run out of the WSA office, but eventually became an independent association. In recent years we've expanded our benefits to be of service to the everyone involved in the footwear and even the ready to wear industries nationwide.

Today, USRA is an organization serving the Independent Shoe Retailer, Ready To Wear Retailer, Sales Reps & Vendors. USRA provides members with special money saving benefits to enable them to run their businesses in a more profitable manner. Membership in the USRA will help cut operating costs and increase the bottom line.
